Caring for Kids is for children with physical disabilities ages 7-17. Because we do not have the funds to provide personal aides, children need to be able to perform all activities of daily living by themselves. If a child cannot perform these activities by themselves, but would like to participate in Caring for Kids programs, a parent or personal aide will need to attend all activities with them.
Caring for Kids offers limited transportation to and from all activities for those children living in Chicago that do not have any means of transportation in their family. This transportation is strictly limited to those children who would not be able to attend programs and activities unless transportation was offered.
In order to enroll your child in the Caring for Kids program, the following must be done:
| RIC Sports |
| Attn: Janet
Lutha |
| 710 N. Lake
Shore Drive 3rd Floor |
| Chicago, IL
60611 |
Once you have sent in the registration materials to RIC Sports, your child will be entered into the Caring for Kids master mailing list. Activity flyers will be mailed to your address. If you would like your child to participate in an activity, you must call and register by the date posted on the activity flyer. If your child needs to use the Caring for Kids' transportation, you must specify so when registering for an activity. Sending in the registration materials does not automatically enroll your child in every event. Parents still need to call and register for activities.
Caring for Kids is funded by grants from Dreams for Kids, Cubs Care, and the Peacock Foundation.
