Paralympic Academy and RIC Sports

The U.S. Paralympic Academy and RIC Sports invite you to enter to win a chance to attend the Paralympic Academy at the Winter Paralympic Games in Torino, Italy!

The US Paralympic Academy is sponsoring an essay contest; "What Ability Means to Me." The contest is open to kids between 12 and 18 years of age who have a physical disability. The 100 word essay will need to be accompanied by two letters of recommendations. A complete list of contest rules as well as an application can be found on the Paralympic Academy website.

As the Illinois affiliate of the US Paralympics, RIC will choose two entries to be sent on to Colorado Springs for the final selection. Deadline for submissions to RIC is November 16, 2005 at 5:00 PM.

The winners will be selected by the Paralympic Academy in early December and will travel to Torino, Italy on March 8-13 for the 2006 Winter Paralympics. Winners will enjoy:
